Potsdam Teachers Donate to Haiti Relief
The Potsdam Teachers Association recently donated $190.00 to Haiti Relief. The money was raised by teachers donating money for a dress down day. Presenting the check are Natalie Fiacco, first grade teacher, Lawrence Avenue School, Larry Jenne, principal, Lawrence Avenue School, and Olga Grant, branch manager, American Red Cross of Northern New York. The funds will be used to provide emergency shelter materials (tarps, tents, ropes and toolkits), food and water, and health and family services. If you would like to make a donation to assist relief efforts in Haiti or Chile, donations can be designated International Relief Fund and sent to the local Red Cross office at American Red Cross of Northern New York, PO Box 627, Potsdam, NY 13676.

Potsdam Teachers' Association Donate to Animal Shelter
Tony Vaccaro, President of the Potsdam Teachers Association, presented a check for $500 to Bonnie Boyd, President of the Potsdam Animal Shelter. The donation, approved by the membership at its October 13th meeting was to help pay the school district facility fee incurred by the shelter for the Bubble Mania Fundraiser held during the July Summerfest in Potsdam. Potsdam Teachers Raises Money to Fight Cancer
Members of the Potsdam Teachers' Association raise $640.00 for the American Cancer Society "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" The membership has participated in this campaign for a number of years and are proud to do their part to help stamp out this form of cancer.
